OBITUARY: Shirley M. Murray

Funeral services for Shirley M. Murray will be at 11 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church in Oronoco with Rev. Dr. Gary Titusdahl officiating. Music will be provided by Katha Johnson. Shirley's grandsons will be casketbearers. Burial will follow in the Oronoco Cemetery.

Shirley, age 80, of Oronoco died on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Sunrise Cottages in Rochester. She was born Shirley Mae Brown on July 21, 1927 in Oronoco to Clarence and Meta (Wright) Brown. She attended schools in Oronoco and Pine Island and on August 8, 1944 married Edward Murray in Rochester. The couple lived their entire lives around the Oronoco area. Shirley did light housekeeping around the area and raised four sons and one daughter. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Oronoco and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Edward, of Oronoco, MN; four sons: Mike (Priscilla) Murray, of Sulfur, LA, David Murray, of Columbia, MO, Roger Murray, of Oronoco, MN and Steven (LuAnn) Murray, of Rochester, MN; one daughter, Terrie Sue (Robert) Yatison, of Wilkesboro, PA; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Clarence, Jr. (Mary) Brown, of Rochester, MN and David (Maryetta) Brown, of Machesney, IL; one sister, Sandy (Frank) Ness, of Kasson, MN. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Allen, and one sister, Wanda.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour preceding services at the church on Saturday.
