Shirley M. Jahns age 85 of Lake City passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lake City on Friday, May 10, 2013.
Shirley was born July 24, 1927 in Wykoff, MN to William & Armida (Hamlin) Theiss. She graduated from Wykoff High School. Shirley married William Jahns April 10, 1948 in Wykoff. They lived in Spring Valley, MN until 1966 when they moved to Lake City. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City and St. John's Ladies Aid. She loved spending time with her family and her dog, working in the garden, bowling and cross word puzzles.
Shirley is survived by her husband, William; two sons, Scott (Christine) of Hudson, WI, Dana of Rochester, MN; a daughter, Nancy (Tom) Conway of Red Wing; 7 grandchildren, Angie, Beth, Shannon, Jessica, Julie, Parker, Cameron; eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Dennis Valleau & Daniel Kroll officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the services at the church.
