Shirley A Breuer, 86, of Lake City, died Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha, Minnesota. She was born April 23, 1936, to Henry and Dorothy (Helmbrecht) Schnell in Dodge County. She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1953. Shirley was married to Russell Breuer on June 5, 1954, in Hayfield, Minnesota. She worked hand in hand on the family farm with her husband for many years. She also worked at the Lake City Chiropractic as office manager. In 1988, she and Russell moved into town. Shirley was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and life member of the Lake City Sportsman Club. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, baking, crossword puzzles and watching sports.
Shirley is survived by four daughters, Valerie (David) Ahlers of Wabasha, Donna (Dale) Lidberg of Lake City, Tracy Breuer of Rochester, and Pam (Carol) Breuer of Lake City; two granddaughters, Michele (Grant) Klennert and Mandy (Tommy) Edelbach; five great grandchildren; one step-sister, Arlene Van Heuklom of Las Vegas, Nevada and sister-in-law, Marlene Breuer of Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell; brother, Richard Schnell; step sister, Janis Scott and brother-in-law, Ralph Breuer.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Pastor Nathan Cordes officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
