Shirley Cameron

January 27, 1946 — March 21, 2025

Shirley Ann Cameron, 79, of Red Wing, died Friday, March 21, 2025 at her home with her husband by her side.

She was born January 27, 1946 in Tampa, Florida. She grew up in the Jacksonville area and graduated from high school there. She married John Torrence II and they had two children. They later divorced.

She worked for many years as the general manager for a large apartment complex management company that owned and operated complexes across four states. She retired due to health concerns.

In 2010, while on the beach in Florida, she met Robert Cameron. She moved with him to Red Wing, Minnesota and the couple was married at the Falconer Vinyards Winery on June 18, 2011. She and Robert enjoyed traveling together. They road-tripped all over the country including, Texas, Virgina, Washington State, and of course, her home state of Florida. They had a little dachshund, Tooter, who she adored. Shirley enjoyed being active when she was able but when it became difficult, she enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the deer. She loved to read and liked finding new shows on Netflix. Most of all, Shirley loved her family unconditionally. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; son, John "Bill" (Wanda) Torrence III; daughter, Michele (Michael) Monahan; grandchildren, Kierstan (Dustin) Herring, John Torrence IV, and Mandy Monahan; great-grandchildren, Liliana, Emory, Raegan, and MacKenzie; siblings, Richard (Kim) Heatwole, Alice (Jesse) Blessit, and Linda (Jerry) Bunton; sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Teri Heatwole.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Mitchell Torrence; 2 brothers, Frank and Charles Heatwole, and her parents, Harry and Doris Heatwole.

A visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
