Shelby Johnson age 73 of Lake City passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at her home.
Shelby was born on June 13, 1938 in Mondovi, WI to Lester and Doris Baader. She grew up in Nelson, WI and graduated from Durand High School. After graduation, she moved to Wabasha and worked at the local nursing home. She married Raymond Johnson on June 3, 1961 in Nelson, WI. They moved to Lake City, and later divorced. Shelby worked at River Oaks Nursing Home and Schmauss Realty until retiring recently due to illness. Shelby enjoyed crafts, antiques, flowers, gardening, and she especially loved cats. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Humane Society.
She is survived by one son, Robert "Bob" Johnson of Lake City; and mother, Doris Baader of Lake City.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lester Baader; brother, Billy Baader; and former husband, Raymond Johnson.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City, and one hour prior to the service.
