Sharon R. "Shari" Deraas

Sharon R. "Shari" Deraas age 66 of Zumbrota, formerly of Wanamingo died on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Zumbrota Health Services. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Wanamingo Lutheran Church with Pastor David Krinke and Pastor Paul Reppe co-officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Sharon Rae Fredrickson was born on February 2, 1946 in Red Wing, MN to Joel R. and Ruth E. (nee Olson) Fredrickson. She grew up in the Wanamingo area and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1964. Shari started working as a secretary for the Mayo Clinic. On March 12, 1966 she married Philip Edwin Deraas at Minneola Lutheran Church. They made their home in the Wanamingo area and Shari worked at the Security State Bank and Cenex in Wanamingo and Lochner's in Zumbrota. Shari enjoyed crafts, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Shari was an active member of Wanamingo Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Shari is survived by her son, Paul (Rachel) Deraas of Apple Valley; daughter, Sara (Loren) Bauer of Eyota, grandchildren, Sawyer and Corie Deraas, Logan Jacobs and Luther Bauer; siblings, Chuck (Shirley) Fredrickson of Wanamingo, Sandi (Craig) Vold of Dundas, Susie (Bernie) Martinson of Bloomington and Bill Fredrickson of Wanamingo; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Judy (James) Davis of Wanamingo; stepmother, Audrey Fredrickson of Wanamingo; stepsisters, Linda (Stan) Sohre of Rochester, Denise (Scott) Ellingson of Hinckley and Robin (Keith) Thompson of Buffalo. Shari was preceded in death by her husband Philip and parents, Ruth and Joel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lupus Foundation or Wanamingo Lutheran Church.
