A memorial gathering and visitation for Sharon Delaney will be held Wednesday April 29th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Mrs. Delaney, 68, of Oronoco, died Saturday April 25, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Saint Mary's Campus in Rochester.
Sharon Lee Olsen was born July 20, 1946 in Austin, Minnesota to Warren and Betty Olsen. She was a graduate of Saint Ansgar (Iowa) High School with the Class of 1964. She moved to Rochester. On November 2, 1969 she married Jim Delaney in Chatfield. The couple moved to Oklahoma, and returned to Rochester in the early 1970s. Sharon worked for Roberts Foods for many years, and then worked at Charter Communications until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, gardening, and long walks.
She is survived by her husband Jim Delaney of Oronoco; sons, Jim (Cindy) Delaney of Rochester, Joe (Lynn) Delaney of Naples, Florida, Patrick Delaney of Naples, Florida; a daughter, Lisa Solem, also of Naples, Florida; three grandchildren, John Solem, Jessica Solem, and Jimmy Delaney; brothers, Kirk (Mary) Olsen of Austin, Minnesota, David (Barbara) Olsen of Austin, Craig (Patty) Olsen of Oviedo, Florida; and a sister, Diedre (David) Dreyer of Brownsdale, Minnesota. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
