Sharon Cardell-Casey was born December 30, 1944 to Lester and Marian Nelson in Red Wing. She passed away peacefully at home after a brief battle with Leukemia on Saturday, September 17, 2011. On September 28, 1963 she married Kenneth Cardell. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1992. She then married David Casey on August 23, 1997. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2008.
Sharon is survived by four children, Theresa (Mike) Schmidt of Lake City, Mike (Kim) Cardell of Red Wing, Steve (Roni) Cardell, and Angel (Pete Jandro) Schneider; sisters, Pam (Greg) Germann of Red Wing and Avanell Young of Northfield; and brothers, Butch (Ann) Nelson of Zumbrota and Brian (Lori) Nelson of Red Wing. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, September 25th at Hay Creek Valley Campground from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
