Sharon Maureen Anderson

Funeral services for Sharon Anderson will be held Saturday December 17th at 10:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Anderson Peterson Chapel in Lake City. The Reverend Carol Shaffer will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City. Ms. Anderson, 74, of Rochester, and formerly of Faith, South Dakota, died from complications of diabetes on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at Madonna Towers in Rochester.
Sharon Maureen Anderson was born March 1, 1942 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Harry and Sylvia (Pitkanen) Anderson. She graduated from Ellendale High School in 1960. She attended Ellendale State Teachers' College, graduating in 1964, majoring in Business Education. She then did more graduate work at Black Hills State, Augustana, and Northern College. She taught school in Fairmont, North Dakota for two years, twenty years in Isabel, South Dakota, and twenty years in Faith, South Dakota. She retired from teaching in 2006.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
Sharon is survived by four sisters, Bonnie (Bill) Bartels of Centennial, Colorado, Judi (Dean) Gleason of Middeltown, New York, Gayle (Jim) Aug of Rochester, Minnesota, and Mary (Dan) Johnson of Zumbro Falls, Minnesota. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Anderson of Lake City, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Dan Anderson.
The family wishes to thank Madonna Living Community for their care and support. Thank you to Seasons Hospice for the care and spiritual support over the last two days. And a special thank you to Sharon's friends in Faith, South Dakota for assisting her over the years.
