Scott K Peterson

Scott K. Peterson, age 68 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, while doing something he loved, fishing on Lake Michigan. Scott was born August 30, 1942, in Lake City to Willard and Anamarie (Miller) Peterson. He grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. On April 25, 1965, he married Marilyn Ann Schumann in Red Wing. Scott worked at Federal Mogul for 45 years retiring in February 2009. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Lake City Fire Department for 30 years holding positions of Secretary and Assistant Chief, Lake City Carnelian Masonic Lodge #40, and the Lake City Sportsman's Club. Scott was very active in the community serving on many boards, committees and commissions over the years including: Lake City Marina Board, Chairman of the Lake City Small Boat Harbor Project, Lake City Planning Commission, Public Safety Building Committee, and was currently serving on the Lake City Public Safety Board, and the Lakewood Cemetery Board. Scott was an avid sportsman, and loved his many hunting and fishing adventures with his children, extended family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Peterson of Lake City; children, Todd (Lynn) Peterson of Rosemount, MN, Troy (Julie) Peterson of Menomonie, WI, Christopher (Tammy) Peterson of Frontenac, MN, and Tracy (Erik) Brunkow of Lake City; grandchildren, Caity and Jenna Peterson of Rosemount, MN; Ellen, Hannah and Olivia Peterson of Menomonie, WI; Kellen and Merrit Peterson of Frontenac, MN; Emma, Ethen, and Marlena Brunkow of Lake City; sister, Onalee (Jack) Lydic of Louisville, KY; brother, Jay Peterson (Elton Cantrell) of New York City, NY; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anamarie and Willard Peterson; granddaughter, Matilyn Ann Brunkow.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Lake City with Rev. David Badgley officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City. Pallbearers will be Del Blowers, Don Lamb, Steve Lowe, Rick Schultz, BJ Strothkamp, Mike Glander; honorary pallbearers will be the Lake City Fire Department. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. There will be a Masonic Service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home Thursday, July 7th. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
