Scott E. Lane

Scott Edwin Lane, born on August 13, 1963, in Forest Lake, Minnesota, departed this world on February 10, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, St. Marys Campus. He was a devoted husband and father, whose legacy of love and compassion will remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Scott met the love of his life after wrong-number phone call to Tracey Crotti and after a few more phone calls and dates, the rest was history. The two were married on June 5, 1993. Those who knew him can recall the profound love they shared. Together, they exemplified what true love meant. Scott doted on Tracey, taking care of her with an unwavering devotion that inspired all who observed their relationship. Their shared interests in dancing, trips to the casino, and adventurous motorcycle rides brought them joy and created countless cherished memories.

Scott worked for different companies upon moving to Red Wing, including Riedell, Red Wing Shoe Company, Coke, and Niebur Oil. However, he found the most fulfillment in his role at FSS-Food Service Specialties, where he was currently employed. 

Scott's personality and presence resonated with warmth and tenderness. He possessed an unconditional love for his family that knew no bounds. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Tracey Lane; his children, Andrew Lane, Alexander (Lisa) Olszewski, and Elizabeth (Nick) Sampson; as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought boundless joy into his life. He also leaves behind two brothers, Otis(Marcia) Lane and Mark (Sue) Lane. Preceding him in death were his father, Otis E. Lane and brothers, Gary and Randy Lane.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Scott on February 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a service at 1:30 p.m. at the Red Wing Elks Lodge, located at 306 West 4th Street, Red Wing, MN 55066.
