Scot M. O'Reilly age 45 of Zumbrota went peacefully with the Lord on Friday, June 04, 2010 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Susan Vikstrom officiating. Burial will be at United Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Scot Michael O'Reilly was born on May 11, 1965 in Zumbrota, MN to Donald and Mary Lee (nee Sumption) O'Reilly. Scot grew up in Zumbrota and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1983. He worked for the City of Zumbrota and later became part-owner of Evergreen Lanes Bowling Alley in Zumbrota. Most recently he worked for the Stary-Yerka VFW Post in Zumbrota. Scot was a member of the United States Bowling Congress and United Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed on October 26, 1980. Scot never married.
Scot enjoyed bowling, golfing, going up north to hunt and fish with family and friends, country music and loved hanging out with his friends. Most of all he loved his two nephews, Sean and Chris Wingfield and his cat Frisco. Scot's kind ways and his giving spirit will be remembered by many.
Scot is survived by his mother, Mary and step-father, Larry Olson; sister, Lynn (Charles) Wingfield; two nephews, Sean and Chris Wingfield all of Zumbrota and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Scot was preceded in death by his father, Donald O'Reilly; grandparents, Irene and Delmar "Mick" O'Reilly, Mary and Albert Hadler and Cleona Lerfald; aunt, Marilyn Zellmer; uncles, Dean, Daryl O'Reilly and Bill and Bob Sumption.
Casketbearers are Kent Friedrich, Randy Rogers, Wayne Froisland, Matt McWaters, Matt Haas and Mark Bolster. Honorary bearers are John, Tim, Kyle, Michael and Dalton O'Reilly, Sean and Chris Wingfield, Brandon and Travis Husbyn, George McWaters and Dale Olson.
To know Scot, was to love him. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
