Sandy K. Scheitel

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Scheitel, 56, of Red Wing, died June 13, 2014 at the Seminary Home. She was born December 16, 1957 in Red Wing, to Junior and Ardis (Nash) Swisher. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1976. In January of that year she married Dwight Scheitel at Vasa Lutheran Church. She worked at the Red Wing Nursing home and later at St. Brigids at Hi Park where she worked for almost 35 years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her dog. She also loved to travel, taking a family trip to Colorado and also visiting Hawaii, Tokyo and Costa Rica. She also enjoyed her lucky trips to the casino.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Dwight; three children, Samantha, Jared and Devon Scheitel all of Red Wing; three siblings, Steve Swisher of Shell Knob, MO, Sue (Les) Bath of Mankato and Carol (Jeff) Green of South St. Paul; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Rick Swisher.
A Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Robert Berthold presiding. Burial is in Burnside Cemetery. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to the family.
