Sandra Lou Halverson

Sandra Halverson, 77 of Ellsworth, died Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls. She was born December 31, 1943 in Red Wing to Orvis and Shirley (Funk) Halverson. She was a nurse’s aide at care centers in the area, including the Red Wing Health Care Center, and she preferred to keep herself busy with work. She was a member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors whether it was on the farm with her siblings, working in her flower garden or maintaining her lawn.  Sandy loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Sheila Dahling) Johnson of Bay City, Wis. and Sherry (Lee) Schwierjohann of Apple Valley, Minn.; two grandchildren, Madison (Bradley) Claycomb of Rosemount, Minn. and Macoy Schwierjohann of Prior Lake, Minn.; siblings, Francis (Doris) Halverson of Bay City, Philip Halverson of Bay City and Eileen (Lynn) Asher of Lindstrom, Minn.; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; sister, Nancy Marsh; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, February 26th, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson Mahn Chapel. A visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be at Esdaile Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
