Sandra Jean Grothe

Sandra Jean Grothe, age 82, of Edina, Minnesota passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 1, 2020. Sandy was born in Wanamingo, Minnesota and was preceded in death by her parents, Obert and Gena Grothe; her sister, Madelon Payne and her brother-in-law Lenny Payne. She is survived by her brother, Jerome (Judith) Grothe, sister Karen (Larry) Freiheit, and many nieces and nephews.
Sandy was a devout Christian with a strong work ethic. She worked at her favorite job in the law library of Winthrop & Weinstine for over 20 years, and didn't fully resign until early 2020. Sandy, the 1958 Goodhue County Diary Princess, enjoyed cross stitching, tying fleece blankets, cheering on the Vikings, scrap booking, and decorating in pink. Sandy was a kind soul who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. She loved her family and friends deeply and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the Fairview Southdale ICU department for taking such good care of Sandy during her final days.
