Sandra Gaye Cordes

Sandra Gaye Cordes, 74, of Ellsworth, died Friday November 26, 2010 at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born on May 23, 1936 in Red Wing to Phillip and Gladys (Hoffman) Carlson. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1954. She married Dennis Cordes on July 13, 1954 in Iowa. They lived in Lake City, Stockholm, and for the past 20 years in Ellsworth. She worked at Riviera Cabinets for 26 years, and then Treasure Island for 6 years retiring from there. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, and quilting, she was an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Dennis, eight children, Dennis, Jr. (Kathy) Cordes of Red Wing, Bill (Cindy) Cordes of Red Wing, Jean (Daniel) Coonse of Spanaway, Washington, Paul (Janice) Cordes of Bay City, Patrick (Darlene) Cordes of Ellsworth, Lori (Curt) Christofferson of Red Wing, Janice (Tim) Hinz of Red Wing, and Joyce (Anibal) Maldonado of Ellsworth; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Michael (Bev) Carlson of Cody, Wyoming; her mother-in-law, Mary Cordes of Lake City and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday December 3, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Arrangements made by Mahn Family Funeral Home-Bodelson Chapel.
