Ryan Red Wing

Ryan Sidney Red Wing, 23, Dickson, TN, formerly of Prairie Island, MN, died at his residence October 7, 2008. He was born February 20, 1985 in Red Wing, the son of Herbert Decoteau and Sheila Red Wing. He attended Red Wing schools where he was an honor student and student of the month. He enjoyed card playing, video games, boating, football and Pow Wows.

Survivors include his mother Sheila Zavala of Colorado Springs, CO; his father, Herbert Decoteau of Sisseton, SD,; four sisters: Brittany (Josh) Red Wing of Colorado Springs, Breanna and Bianca Molina, and Biance Zavala Red Wing all of Kansas City, MO; his stepfather, Eduardo Molina of Kansas City, MO; two grandmothers, Connie (Frank) Clark of Stewart, IA and Cheryl Spider of Sisseton, SD; grandfather, George (Sue) Taylor, Sr. of Red Wing; five aunts: Posie Johnson, Janet (Barry) Frantum, and Cheryl Taylor, all of Welch, Laura and Natasha Taylor, both of Red Wing; five uncles: Johnny (Terrie) Johnson of Welch, Josh Big Eagle, George (Angie) Taylor, Jr. and Shawn Taylor, all of Red Wing and Clifford (Georgie) Littlewind of Fort Totten, ND; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Marion (Johnny) Johnson and Inez Johnson; his grandfathers: Kenneth Red Wing, Sr. and Donald Decoteau; his uncle, Kenneth Red Wing, Jr.

Funeral will be 1 p. m. Saturday and the Prairie Island Community Center with Reverend Johnson Loud and Pat Badhand officiating. Burial will be in the Church of the Messiah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Taylor, Jeffery Freeman, Phil White, Calvin Campbell, Nicholas Owen and Edwin Buck; honorary pallbearers will be George Taylor, Jr., Scott Johnson, Broderick Dressen, Louis Littlewind, Darren Childs and John Wells. Visitation will be at the Prairie Island Community Center, beginning at 5 p. m. Thursday and continuing until the time of the service on Saturday. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling arrangements.
