Ruth Ann Whipple

Ruth Ann Whipple, 80, of Red Wing, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus.  She was born Feb. 15, 1940, in Hastings, to Sam and Mary (O’Brien) Hamilton and attended school in Hastings.  On December 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Myron Whipple and they made their home in the Red Wing area, where she cared for their home and they raised 6 children.

She enjoyed flower gardening and going to auctions, garage sales and the casino.

She is survived by her children, Lori Whipple, Mona (Doug) Liebswager, Jay Whipple and Mike (Nicole) Whipple; daughter-in-law, Candace Whipple; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Chuckie and Thomas Hamilton.

She is preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Mark and Marvin Whipple; grandson, Dillon Liebswager; siblings, Betty Lou, Mary Jane Mallard, Darlene Burr, Katie Smith, Charlotte Peterson, Robert and Samuel Hamilton, Jr.; and her parents.
