Ruth Hannah Rusch

Ruth Hannah Rusch, 98, of Red Wing, died Friday, August 16, 2013 in her home at DeerCrest. She was born on December 28, 1914 in Goodhue, Minnesota to Herman and Clara (Kunde) Zemke. She attended school through the 8th grade in Goodhue and then worked as a housekeeper. She married Reinhard J. Rusch on June 10, 1936 in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Belvidere. She worked as a janitor at St. Peter's for 10 years. Reinhard, died on October 2, 1994. She was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Belvidere and a current member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing. She was also a member of the Belvidere project group. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and quilting.

She is survived by one son, Marlyn (Rhoda) of Branson, Missouri; two daughters, Joan (Orville) Zemke of Goodhue and Janice Birk of Red Wing; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; many great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Frederick and Melvin Kunde; two sisters, Marcella Rosener and Luella Kunde; and son-in-law, Roger Birk.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
