Obituary: Ruth Miller Funeral services for Ruth Miller will be at 11AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester with Reverend Dr. James Heining officiating. April Beckman will provide the music. Casketbearers will be Ruth?s grandchildren: Jason Kosek, Jeremy Kosek, Andrew Kosek, Jenessa Kosek, Samantha Miller, Barbara Miller, Jeffrey Locy, Neal Locy, Joseph Locy and Jack Stien. A second funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, MN. Burial will follow in First Lutheran Cemetery at Glencoe. Mrs. Miller, age 72, of Rochester and formerly Glencoe, died at home on Saturday, June 24, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. She was born Ruth Ellen Graupmann on April 10, 1934, in Plato, MN to Harold C. and Hilda B. (Templin) Graupmann. Ruth attended school in Plato and Glencoe, MN. She was married to Duane R. Miller on February 14, 1952 in Plato and, following their marriage, the couple lived in Glencoe. She was a homemaker before working as a lab technician for Green Giant in Glencoe. Ruth later worked as a lab technician for Glencoe Butter and Produce. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Guild, choir and a Sunday school teacher. The couple moved to Rochester in 2001 where she was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sarah?s Circle and active in Bible study. She enjoyed quilting, computers, walking, garage sales, gardening, flowers and spending her winters in Florida. Ruth is survived by her husband, Duane, of Rochester, MN; one son, Mike (Jody) Miller, of Breezy Point, MN; three daughters: Deborah (Richard) Kosek, of Hutchinson, MN, Patricia (Rick) Fruetel, of Plato, MN, Kathy (David) Stien, of Rochester, MN; ten grandchildren: Jason Kosek, Jeremy Kosek, Andrew Kosek, Jenessa Kosek, Samantha Miller, Barbara Miller, Jeffrey Locy, Neal Locy, Joseph Locy and Jack Stien; three great grandchildren: Karissa Kosek, Joshua Locy and Ashley Locy; one brother, Orlin Groupmann, of Plato, MN; two sisters: Norma Bandemer, of Glencoe, MN and Sharon (Gene) Mackenthun, of Plato, MN; two sisters-in-law: Darlene Groupmann, of Babbit, MN and Beverly Groupmann, of Plato, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Steven and Jeffrey; and two brothers: Earl and Elmer. Visitation in Rochester will be from 5-8PM on Monday, June 26, 2006, at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Rochester Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Visitation in Glencoe will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
