Ruth Frances Kirchner, 84, of Red Wing, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 in the arms of loved ones. She was born April 23, 1936, in River Falls, Wisconsin, to William and Anne (Cotter) Kirchner. She spent her childhood in Clifton and Oak Grove Townships. She attended grade school at St. Mary's Big River and went to Prescott High School. She moved to Red Wing where she raised her family and worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company until her retirement. She enjoyed staying active, exercising, hiking, and going to the Red Wing YMCA. Ruth liked watching tennis and was huge fan of the Swiss tennis player, Roger Federer. She also enjoyed a great cup of coffee and Academy Awards parties with her friends. Ruth was a hard-working and strong lady. She lived with Parkinson's for more than 17 years and was determined to not let it slow her down. She was a dedicated and loving mother and friend and cherished being a grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Jackie (Larry) Lyons of Lake City, Terry Stuhr of Lake City, Julie (Matt) Vandelac of Stillwater and Steve (Dawn) Stuhr of Atlanta, GA; 8 grandchildren, Amanda (Diego) Lyons Bolivar and Nathan (Jessica) Lyons, Trevor, Shannon and Andrew Vandelac, Emma Vold, Medora and Lucy Stuhr; 4 great-grandchildren, Santiago, Lia, Jack and Lily; 2 sisters, Esther Kirchner of River Falls and Helen Fasbender of Hastings and a brother, Jim Kirchner of Farmington; longtime friend Liz Burhans; many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Alice Peterson, Agnes Johnson, Bill, Chuck, John and Raymond Kirchner, Katey Pace, Charlene Kirchner, and Inez Baker; dear friend Ed.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020 at St. Mary's Big River Church in River Falls, WI, with Rev. Kevin Louis presiding. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Social distancing and masks are encouraged. A live stream of the service will be available on the Mahn Family Funeral Home's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/mahnfamilyfuneralhome for those unable to attend.
