Ruth Elisa Kenworthy, 95, of Red Wing, died Friday, November 14, 2008, at the Villa at Hi-Park where she has resided for the past five years. She was born on August 24, 1913, in Roseau, Minnesota to Ole and Ella (Wenstrom) Flaa. She attended schools in Roseau and then worked at Gray Inn Restaurant in Roseau for number of years. On November 26, 1936, she was married to Wayne Kenworthy in Roseau. In 1940 moved to Grand Forks until 1968 when they moved to Fargo. In 1982 they moved to Red Wing to be closer to their daughter and her family. Wayne died on June 16, 1989. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a past and active member at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. She enjoyed baking, crocheting and cleaning.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene (Don) Zimmerman of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Bonnie (Dave) Baltos of Red Wing and Jeff Zimmerman of Eagan; one great granddaughter, Heather (Brian) Fairbanks of Red Wing and two great grandsons, Easton and Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son infancy and two brothers, John and Robert Flaa.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don and Jeff Zimmerman, Dave Baltos and Brian Fairbanks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the church or Fairview Red Wing Hospice. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
