Ruth L. Bjugan, age 85, formerly of Rochester, died on Friday March 5, 2010 at Kenyon Sunset Homes in Kenyon.

The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 9, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with the Rev. Nancy Edwardson officiating. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruth Lorraine Lubahn was born on July 2, 1924 on the family farm in Oronoco to John and Effie (nee Finstuen) Lubahn. They were members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oronoco. She graduated from Mazeppa High School. On July 14, 1945 Ruth and Robert L. Bjugan were married on the Lubahn family farm near Roscoe. Following their marriage the couple lived at Carl Langness' farm in rural Kenyon. Ruth worked at Wally's Market in Zumbrota. In 1962 they moved to Rochester. While there she worked at Sears Roebuck, Massey's, and St. Mary's Hospital. She retired from the hospital where she held a position in the housekeeping department. In July of 2000 she entered the Kenyon Sunset Home. On September 29, 2002 Robert preceded Ruth in death after 57 years of marriage.

Ruth enjoyed cooking, walking, crocheting, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren. Through the years she was active in the Ladies' Aid for Stordahl Lutheran Church in Roscoe Township and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester. She was also a member of the Rochester Eagle's Lodge with her husband, Robert.

Ruth is survived by her son, Richard Bjugan of Ozark, MO; daughter, Rachel (Larry) Geier of Wanamingo; six grandchildren, Kim Bjugan of Des Moines, IA, Kris (Scott) Camper of Mason City, IA, Chad Geier of Jefferson City, MO, Peter Bjugan of Mason City, IA, Sheila Geier of Northfield, and Dane (Jenny) Bjugan of Mason City, IA; five great-grandchildren, Kendra and Ashton Camper, Grayce, Annaka and Cameron Bjugan, brother, Wayne (Elsie) Lubahn of Zumbrota; brother-in-law, Kermit Haugen of Pine Island; sister-in-law, Janette Lubahn of Stewartville and Ella Aadahl of Northfield; and several nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie; her husband, Robert; one brother, Roger; and her sisters, infant Betty Jean and Arline Haugen.

Casketbearers are Peter and Dane Bjugan, Chad Geier, Kenny, John and David Lubahn.
