Russell E. McDonald

Russell E. McDonald, age 89, of Wanamingo, died on Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Kenyon Sunset Home in Kenyon. He was born on November 17, 1922, in Le Sueur County, to Arthur and Irene (McLean) McDonald. Russell worked as a farmer for many years, and retired from Mid America in Zumbrota. On November 17, 1943, he married Marcella Ziemer at the Church of Christ in St. Peter, MN.

Russell enjoyed outdoor activities, especially camping, fishing, and bicycling. He also enjoyed taking pictures. He was a member of Concord Church of Christ where he was an elder.

Russell is survived by his wife, Marcella; children, Gloria (John) Angerman of Hot Springs, AR., Roland (Mary) of Rochester, MN., Dennis (Linda) of Hastings, MN., Sharon (Virgil) Pederson of Shell Lake, WI., Marvin (Sue) of Webster, WI., Doreen (David) Schultz of Wykoff, MN.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, 3 brothers; and several extended family members.

Russell was preceded in death by his son, Larry; grandson Michael; and four brothers.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Concord Church of Christ in West Concord with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Concord Church of Christ in West Concord, Kenyon Sunset Home, or to the donor's choice.
