Rueben Leo Berg, 74, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 7, 2022.
He was born in Red Wing, Minnesota, on June 1, 1947, to Melvin and Luella Berg. He was one of ten kids, and they were hard working farmers. Rueben always enjoyed the great outdoors. He graduated from Wanamingo High School, and married Brenda Wallaker on May 15, 1982. Together they had four boys; Cory, Scott, Ryan and Alex. They were later divorced.
Rueben worked at Maple Island in Wanamingo and then joined the crew at Wanamingo Soil Center/ AG Partners. He retired in 2017. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going for drives, wanting to see deer and other wildlife. He enjoyed softball and became the umpire for the Charlies Women's Softball Team, which he enjoyed very much. He also organized other softball games around town. In 2015 he took his four sons up to the Lake of the Woods for a weekend of fishing. As the years went by this became a yearly adventure, and it grew to 24 men and boys. This was a great time for all.
He will be dearly missed.
