Roxane Elaine Johnson, 66, of St. Paul, formerly of Hager City, died Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She was born December 19, 1955 in Red Wing to Don and Patricia (Doerr) Johnson. She grew up with her siblings in Trenton Township. When she was 8-years-old she received a kidney from her aunt Lavonne “Babe” Envold, who was only 21 at the time. Her transplant was successful for more than 50 years. Despite the challenge of being legally blind, Roxane enjoyed learning and after graduating from Ellsworth High School in 1974 went on to the University of Wisconsin, River Falls where she earned her Masters degree in Science in Education, Guidance and Counseling Psychology. She also attended classes at the University of Minnesota for her continuing education. While in college she helped run a youth center for teens on probation and she later recalled it was her favorite job. For 27 years she worked for Hennepin County as a Finance Worker. While working at Hennepin County she met Lorraine Haney. After 32 years together, they married on April 8, 2021.
Roxane enjoyed music of all kinds and she love listening to stories about her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was a sports fan and enjoyed listening to the Twins and rooting for Tiger Woods on the golf course. She attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and volunteered with the AIDS foundation.
She is survived by her wife, Lorraine Haney of St. Paul; Lorraine’s children, Bob (Marie) Olson of Montrose, Minn., Darren (Dana) Olson of Otsego, Minn., and Chris (Valerie) Olson of St. Michael, Minn.; siblings, Bev Mattson of Red Wing, Cindy (Gary) Carlson of Red Wing, and Don (Rhonda) Johnson of Hager City, Wis.; 5 nieces and nephews, Stacy, Nick, Will, Jessica, and Christine; 3 great nephews, Hunter, Archer, William “Little Will” and one on the way; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Daniel, Matthew, and Hannah; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Addison
She is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Brian Olson; and sister, Brenda Johnson.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Ingrid Arneson Rasmussen officiating.
