Rosella (Sally) Hardt, 89, passed away Tuesday Dec. 27, 2011 at Alden Estates Nursing Home & Rehabilitation in Barrington. Sally was born September 26, 1922 in Red Wing, MN. to Fredrick & Lydia Dille. She grew up on the family farm in rural Red Wing, and was the first of her family to graduate High School.
On November 29, 1942 she married Victor Henry Hardt. The family lived in several states including Arkansas, Minnesota, New York & Wisconsin, eventually settling in Mt. Prospect, IL. Sally worked for Arlington Heights Federal Savings & Loan for 30 years, starting as a switch board operator, moving to receptionist and retiring as a savings counselor.
Sally was a devote Christian and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect, IL. Her interests included her work, watching & feeding birds & squirrels, and most importantly spending time with her family & friends. In her later years she loved to watch her boys 'work' around their homes where she enjoyed playing the role of 'straw boss'.
Sally is survived by her children James of Queen Victoria, Canada, John of Rockford, IL, Matthew (Loraine) of McHenry, IL & Luke of Palatine, IL, grandchildren Stacy Redman of Belvidere, IL & Stephanie Burton of Clinton, WS, and great grandchildren J.J, Troy, Travis, Bradly, Ashly & Tony, a brother Bernie Dille of San Mateo, CA. & a sister Angeline Brown of Hastings, MN, as well as numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband Victor Henry Hardt, a brother Ralph, and sisters Bernice, Adeline, Charmagne, Pearl & Verneal.
Special thanks to the staff at Northwest Community Hospital & St. Alexius Hospital for their care of Sally during medical emergencies, and to the staff at Alden Estates who cared for her so lovingly during the last 1 ½ years, and who became her extended family in that time..

Funeral service will be at 11a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek, MN with Reverend Lowell Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
