Rosella Mae Cliff

Rosella Mae Cliff was born October 1, 1925 in Dodge County, the daughter of Sigval and Selma (Hegna) Edgar. She graduated in 1943 from Hayfield High School. She married Donald J. Cliff June 25, 1947, in Hayfield, Minnesota. The couple lived in Lake City until moving to Red Wing in 1953. Rosella graduated from the Minneapolis Business College and was employed by Ben Franklin and then at the Republican Eagle until her retirement. She also sold Avon for many years so that she could stay at home with her children. Rosella was active at First Lutheran Church participating in many circles and groups within the church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, embroidery work, and playing cards. Most of all, Rosella loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rosella died on Thursday, September 06, 2012 at Mayo Health System - Red Wing at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
Rosella is survived by her son Michael (Kathy) Cliff of Red Wing; daughters Kay (James) Halvorsen and Linda (Dean) Reinhart both of Red Wing; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and another due in December.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son Scott; parents; and two brothers Kindred and Millard Edgar.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Brian Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Memorials preferred to First Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
