Rose Mary Schliep

Rose Mary Clara Rothstein was born on September 20, 1924 in Rockville Village to Nicholas and Elizabeth (Zeitler) Rothstein. She attended Stearns County public school. Rose married Leo Schliep on June 1, 1946. She was a homemaker while she and her husband farmed in Roscoe Township, the couple later moved to Zumbrota in 1975. Rose began to work for the Zumbrota Nursing Home as a cook. She retired in the early 1990s. Leo preceded her in death on November 28, 1998.
Rose enjoyed cooking, crafting and travelling. She also enjoyed playing cards and listening to music. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, serving on the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Pineaires Homemaker Group and the Zumbrota Ladies Auxiliary.
Rose is survived by her two sons, Les (Sue) Schliep and Le Roy (Debora) Schliep, both of Pine Island; four grandchildren, Kristine (Jesse) Gillard, Kathleen (Greg) Bakken, Jennifer (Jeremy) Fogarty, and Nicole (Joey) Hahn; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers and sisters.
