Rose Elinor Kispert

November 7, 1920 — December 5, 2013

Rose E. Kispert, age 93, of Rochester, died on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester. She was born on November 7, 1920, on the family farm in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, to Theodore and Julia (Smith) Peterson. She attended country school and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1939. In 1940 Rose married Eldon "Tony" Kispert in Nashua, IA. Tony died in 1952. On September 1, 1953 she married Verne West in Minneapolis and they later divorced. Rose was a fulltime homemaker and caretaker. In 1984 she moved to Rochester where she volunteered at St. Marys Hospital for several years. Rose attended Evangel United Methodist Church in Rochester. She enjoyed cleaning, cooking, and baking. Her passion was caring for others.

Rose is survived by her sister, Lila Stucky of Kasson; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Kispert; nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon "Tony" Kispert; sons, Steven Kispert, Mark Kispert; grandson, Jay Kispert; brother, Norman Peterson; sister-in-law, Myrtle Peterson; brother-in-law, Dr. Max L. Stucky; and ex-husband, Verne West.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel with Pastor Lincoln Engelbert officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
