Rose Mary Franke
Rose Mary Franke, 90, of Lake City passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Lake City Nursing Home.
Rose was born June 20, 1919 in Millville, MN to Edmond and Agnes (Laqua) Sexton. She grew up in the Millville area and graduated from McCahill High School in Lake City. She married Ferdinand Franke on September 12, 1939 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany. They farmed in Oakwood Township until 1948, moving to West Albany Township where they continued farming. Ferdinand passed away April 28, 1998. She was a member at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany, Council of Catholic Women; she taught CCD and was a 4H Leader for many years. Rose's grandchildren and family were a very important part of her life.
Rose is survived by her children, Patricia Franke, Margaret (Tom) Haase, and James (Diane) Franke all of Lake City; two grandsons, Cody and Michael Haase of Lake City; 4 sisters, Mildred Dick of Wabasha, Irene Tritchler of Minneapolis, Marcella (Rita) Schmidt of Lake City, Delores (Walter) Books of Ellsworth, WI; 2 brothers, Robert Sexton of Millville, Lawrence Sexton of Millville. She was preceded in death by her husband Ferdinand, 2 brothers, Richard & Patrick and a sister Frances Dick.
Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in West Albany at 10:30 AM with Father Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. A prayer services will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also call one hour before the services at the church.
