Ronnie Ray Hanson, 71, of Hager City, died Monday, July 13, 2020 at his home. He was born June 6, 1949 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Elmer and Esther (Eklund) Hanson. He graduated from Kasson Mantorville High School in 1967. He married Terry Robb on June 29, 1974 in Kasson. Together they raised one daughter, Nickie. In 2012, Ronnie finished work on the "Nickie Layne," a steel trawler that had been a labor of love for 10 years. When it was complete, he, Terry, and the Nickie Layne moved to Red Wing where they have been for the last 8 years.
Ronnie was known for being a spirited conversationalist and a good-natured rabble-rouser. He enjoyed his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He spent his time fishing and traveling. However, he was most at home living and working on the Mississippi River.
He is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Nickie (Erick Simola); and five grandchildren, Quinn, Duncan, Pearl, Everett and Ozzy.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
