Ronald Stephen Tomaska, 72, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly, Friday, March 25, 2011, at his home. He was born November 12, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, to Stephen and Josephine (Madison) Tomaska. He attended school in Chicago, and following high school, he enlisted in the US Army, serving for two years. He married Shelby Kerg and they later divorced. In 1974, he married Rochelle Mohr and they lived in Red Wing. They later divorced. He worked at the SB Foot Tanning Company for many years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54 and the Red Wing Elks Lodge BPOE #845. He loved spending time with his daughters and he also enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards with his friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Andrea Tomaska and Lindsey (Joe) Prink both of Cannon Falls and his good friends, Mickey and Wally Moore of Red Wing.
He was preceded in death by father, mother and a step-father, Fay Boll.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors by the Leo C. Peterson honor guard.
