Ronald Dennis Simonson

Ronald Dennis Simonson, 89, of Red Wing, died peacefully at his home, Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Ron and his twin brother Don were born June 18, 1932 to Taletta (Strand) Simonson in Red Wing. Ron married the love of his life, Margery Jablonske on November 3, 1953. Ron served in the U.S. Army and worked for the Red Wing Shoe Company.

He was the best husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was known for his sense of humor, contagious laugh, kindness and his gift of gab. He always had a story to tell. Ron was generous and kind man who would always lend a hand to those in need. Ron enjoyed building and fixing things. His most prized possession was the car he built from scrap.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marge; sons, Michael (Cindi) Simonson, Daniel (Lynn) Simonson; daughter, Julie (Tim) Gentling; 5 grandchildren and 8 (soon to be 9) great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Taletta; stepfather, Melvin Simonson; brothers, Don and Cliff Simonson; and a grandson, Aaron Simonson.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date. Details are pending.
