Ronald L. Peterson

Ronald L. Peterson 77, Ellsworth passed away February 9, 2025. He was born in 1947 to Clint and Virgil (Jennings) Peterson. He attended Ottman corner, Lindgren, and was a graduate of Ellsworth HS. Longterm employee of Nestle Purina & Berquist Company. Active member of New River Assembly of God as a deacon, head usher, visitation volunteer. He enjoyed visiting shut-ins and was good at making conversation with them. Married Kay Stockwell in 1970. 

He had an active sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He was considerate and unselfish. He enjoyed being in the woods & harvesting wood for heating. He worked hard, but time with family was a priority. He looked forward to going down the big slide at the Pierce County Fair with the grandkids. He learned to drive his grandpa’s stock truck at an early age and had many good memories of Stockyards & Peterson Trucking. Ron had close relationships with both sets of grandparents. 

He never got tired of turning heads in his 2000 Chevy Silverado or taking multiple rides daily on his Honda four-wheeler. He was a lifelong exerciser and not many years ago had bought a total gym. Doctors often told him that his physical fitness was paying dividends.

Survived by wife Kay; daughter, Andrea (Blaine); son, Ryan; grandchildren, Nate, Abby, Dayne, Maya; Aunt, Bonnie Anderson, Uncle Gary (Pat) Jennings, Aunt Elfreida Jennings; many friends, neighbors, cousins, brothers, Chuck (Karen) & Tracey (Heidi).

We were very blessed to have him in our lives.

Arrangements: Saturday, February 15, visitation 10 a.m., service 11 a.m. at New River Assembly of God, 240 Spates Ave, Red Wing, MN.

Memorials preferred to discretion of family.
