Ronald Roger Knudsen, known to many as "Ronnie," passed away at the age of 79 on January 15, 2025, at his home in Frontenac, MN.
Born on May 14, 1945, to Roland and Dorothy (Turek) Knudsen, Ronnie graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1963. On July 11, 1971, he married Peggy Stein, with whom he shared a loving partnership for over five decades.
Ronnie was a skilled businessman, owning and operating Knudsen Construction, The Staghead restaurant, and Knudsen's Caramels. He was known for his dedication to his work and his ability to connect with others. A beloved figure in his community, Ronnie was also known for his sharp wit and his talent for delivering unforgettable one-liners that brought smiles to everyone around him.
Above all, Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Knudsen; children Josh (Heather) Knudsen, Noah (Stephanie) Knudsen; grandchildren Clara, Charlie, Brody, Bennett, and Grace; as well as siblings Randy (Karin) Knudsen, Jeff (Terri) Knudsen, Mike (Sue) Knudsen, Nancy Knudsen, and Lori (Don) Scribner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Dorothy Knudsen, his sister, Judy, and his brother, Chuck.
Ronnie’s family and friends will forever remember him for his kindness, humor, and the warmth he brought into their lives. A celebration of his life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Skyroom at the Red Wing Golf Course. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice in his memory.
Ronnie’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
