Ronald Norman Halpaus, 53, of Red Wing, died Monday, Jan. 18, at his home. He was born on July 25, 1956 in Lake City to William and Evelyn (Krause) Halpaus. He attended schools in Lake City and for many years worked for IRC in Red Wing on the assembly line and as groundsman. On September 23, 1974 he was married to Joyce Mason in Red Wing. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and volunteered for Special Olympics. He enjoyed putting models together and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; seven children, Anita (Aaron) Bauer of Welch, Teresa Halpaus of St. Cloud, Kari (Andy Jablonski) Halpaus of Red Wing, John (Melaine) Halpaus of Red Wing, Sarah (Carlos Parra Pantoja) Halpaus of Goodhue, Michael Halpaus of Red Wing and Brian (Luann) Halpaus of Red Wing; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Hilbert, Willie, Charlie and Eugene Halpaus; three sisters, Margie, Margaret and Erna; mother-in-law, Marjorie Mason of Red Wing; nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one sister and one brother.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Tim Bennyhoff officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service.
