Ronald Amdahl, 75, of Rochester, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021.
He was born in Lanesboro, MN on October 9, 1946 to Orval and Marie (Gilbertson) Amdahl.
He grew up in the Fillmore county area and graduated from Preston High School. Ronald attended Winona State University and graduated with a masters degree in Psychology. He and Diane met while at Winona State and married in 1969. They moved to Rochester in 1973 and raised two sons.
Ronald enjoyed camping at the lake, wood carving, running, water-skiing, and played drums for the Rochester Caledonian Pipe Band for 44 years.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Amdahl; Sons, Travis and Britt; 3 granddaughters; 1 great-granddaughter; siblings, Karyl Tammel, and Jim Amdahl; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ann.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 at Mahn Family Funeral home Rochester-Chapel from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For those planning to attend please wear a mask while inside the building. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to a charity of the donor's choosing.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
