Roland Furchner, 88, of Red Wing, died February 22, 2020 at St. Crispin Living Community. He was born December 21, 1931 in Saint Paul, Minn. to Albert and Louise Furchner. He served in the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force. In 1953, he met and married Irene young. Together they were married 53 years and raised 5 children. He worked for 25 years for the US Postal Service before retiring to Tucson, Ariz. Roland was a strong Christian, accomplished wood carver and was known for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by four sons, Robert (Sue), Dennis (Jean), Eugene and Michael (Crystal); 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene; son, Paul; one sister, Deloris and his parents. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Crispin and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
