Roger Erickson

Roger C. Erickson, 80, of Lake City, died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Lake City Hospital. He was born January 18, 1930 in Westbrook, MN to Clarence and Olga (Kleven) Erickson. Roger graduated from Westbrook High School in 1948. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1950 and served during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged in 1953. He married Donna Feist on December 26, 1951 in Pipestone, MN. He owned and operated the Erickson Hardware and Furniture Store in Westbrook, MN for 55 years. He was a member of Kiwanis, Lions Club, Legion, Commercial Club, Westbrook City Council member, and Light & Power Commission Member. In December of 2002 they moved to Lake City and he was member of the Lake City United Methodist Church.
Roger is survived by his wife, Donna of Lake City; 3 sons, Steve (Rebecca) of Maple Grove, Randal (Diane) of Rochester and Lee of St. Paul; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his sister, Marilyn (Kent) Bigbee of Mankato, a brother, Gary (Myrna) Erickson of Fridley and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Douglas Erickson.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2010 at United Methodist Church, Lake City with the Reverend Kristine Marshall officiating. Burial with military honors by the American Legion Post # 9110 & VFW Post # 8729 will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
