Roger William Burdick

Roger William Burdick, 80, formerly of Zumbrota, died on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at The Estates at Bloomington. He was born in Red Wing on May 15, 1940, to Chester and Mary (Poncelet) Freiheit. He attended school in his early years and then began his lifelong career of working on the family farm. His father, Chester, died at an early age and Mary was remarried to Nelson Burdick, who adopted and raised Roger and his siblings. Roger had a genuine love of life and he always enjoyed what he was doing, whether it be gardening or cutting wood. He loved people and their company, animals, flowers, and life on the farm. He will especially be remembered for the various birdhouses that he made and gave away to his family and close friends.

He is survived by his siblings, Darlene Freiheit of WI, Ralph (Jane) Burdick of Mazeppa, MN, Mary Clare (Bernard) Goblirsch of Wabasso, MN, Adrian (Dolores) Burdick of Mazeppa, MN, James (Julie) Burdick of Zumbrota, MN, Theresa Woody of Orion, IL, and Daniel (Jean) Burdick of Zumbrota; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard (Shirley) Burdick.
