The funeral for Roger W. Bennett will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home � Rochester Chapel with Reverend Mark Woodward officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett, 69, of Rochester, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Roger Wayne Bennett was born July 6, 1939 in Rochester to Gilbert and Vivian (Davidson) Bennett. He attended Rochester schools and upon his completion he began farming with his brother outside of Eyota and working construction. He married Marie Gronvold in 1958 and they later divorced. He married Joanne Sutherland in 1972 in Iowa, and later divorced. Roger adopted Joanne's son Michael. He started the grain bin business Ag Unlimited in 1974. In the early 80s he began working as an auctioneer and later selling real estate.
He is survived by two daughters, Dawn Macy of Longmont, CO, Kay Bennett of Williams, AZ; three sons, Mark (Chris) Bennett of Concho, AZ, Jeff (Kathy) Bennett of Show Low, AZ, and Michael (Joy) Bennett of Eyota, MN; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Anne) Bennett of Dover, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Bennett; sister, Sally.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
