Rodney Carroll Rabe

Rodney Carroll Rabe age 72 of Lake City passed away May 2, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Rodney was born September 2, 1942 in Lake City to Carroll and Lorraine (Copp) Rabe. He grew up and attended school in Zumbro Falls and graduated from Wabasha High School in 1960. On September 13, 1963 he married Geraldine Lichtblau at the United Methodist Church in Lake City. He worked at IBM, DiAcro, McKeon - Schuller and Pemstar as a tool and die maker and tool and equipment designer. He was a member of United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and board member. He was also the Gillford Township clerk for 6 years. Rodney had many talents and was interested in many things, including technology, building, making and fixing things, raising livestock and working on the family farm. Later in life he enjoyed art and took up painting. He was also a golfer and a bowler. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Gerri; two sons, Cameron (Wendy) of Inver Grove Heights and Brian (Ann) Rabe of Ham Lake; five grandchildren, Andrew, Cole, Ellie, Brenna and Wilson; his mother, Lorraine Rabe of Lake City; two brothers, Roger (Sandy) Rabe of Elgin and Dan (Val) Rabe of West Concord; four sisters, Jean (Don Donlinger) Springer of Millville, Karen (Jerry) O'Brien of Lake City, Kay (Frank Mercadante) Klein of Apopka, FL and Debra (Kevin) Pahl of Coon Rapids; two brothers-in-law, Gary (Donna) Lichtblau of Lake City and Lyle (Vicki) Lichtblau of Lake City; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Syl) Thiel of Lake City, Shirley (Kenneth) Ferguson of Riceville, IA and Judy (Denny) Lortscher of Lake City, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carroll.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday May 6, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Lake City with Rev. Phillip Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City and one hour prior to the service at church.
