Roberta Hickey

 Funeral services for Roberta Hickey will be held Wednesday January 29th at 1:00 PM at Pine Island United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tony Fink will officiate. Interment at Pine Island Cemetery will occur in Spring. Mrs. Hickey, 91, died Sunday January 26, 2025 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Roberta Mae LaRock was born April 21, 1933 in New Haven Township, Olmsted County, the daughter of Mark and Abbie (neé Farnsworth) LaRock. Roberta was a lifelong resident of Pine Island and a graduate of Pine Island High School. She enrolled in bookkeeping courses and then worked as a secretary and bookkeeper. A member of the Rebekah Lodge, she also volunteered for community activities. She married Milo ‘Bud’ Hickey on June 20, 1954 in Pine Island. She and her husband had a great fondness of riding horseback in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

 Roberta is survived by her daughters Robin (John) Larsen of Mantorville, and Jodi (Larry Widucki) Welsh of Elk River; grandchildren Billie Jo (Joseph) Rostvold,  Abbie Jo (Melvan Beamer) Larsen, John (Kaitlyn Crowley) Larsen, Jr., Thomas John Welsh, and Ashley (Brian) Marks; great-grandchildren Ethan Hinton, Gabriella and Trey Larsen, Kaiden Beamer, Gracelyn Crowley, Khloe Giron, and Lyric, Ella and Morgan Rostvold. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Denton LaRock, twin-brother Robert LaRock in infancy, and granddaughter Bobbie Jo Larsen.
