Robert "Bob" Roschen, 69, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, July 19 at his home. He was born November 20, 1946, in Lake City to Dallas and Elain (Schumann) Roschen and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. He then attended Dunwoody College where he became a carpenter. Shortly after, he enlisted in the Army National Guard which he was a part of for 31 years. He met his wife Jane on a blind date on Friday the 13th and after boot camp, they were married and moved back home to Red Wing where they had 3 wonderful children. Bob started his own business called Imperial Concrete and Construction where he worked until 1990. After, he started working in the Drug Task Force at department headquarters in Saint Paul for 5 years. He then worked as a supervisor for National American Framing until he retired in 2008. Bob also taught for some time at Vocational Technical college. He loved to work! Bob was a jack-of-all- trades but besides working, his other interests included hunting, fishing, and helping his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane of Red Wing; children, Brad (Jamie) of Red Wing, Brian (Brenda) of Dubuque, Iowa, and Shelly (Chris McMahon) of Red Wing; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Roschen of Red Wing and sister, Phyllis Dammann of Tulsa, Okla.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ellen Nystuen.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
