Robert Glenn Richter, 50, of Red Wing, Minnesota, died Monday, May 22, 2006, at Rochester Methodist Hospital, following complications due to lung cancer. He was born June 17, 1955, in Red Wing, to Glenn and Vivian (Van Guilder) Richter. He graduated in 1973 from Red Wing Central High School. He went on to study Agriculture-Banking at the Red Wing Technical College graduating in 1975. On November 29, 1975 he married Sandra Gustafson in Red Wing at Christ Episcopal Church. He worked at various businesses and lived in Winona, Owatonna, Faribault, Vasa, and then Red Wing. In May 1997, he started River City Limousine, which he owned and operated until his death. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where he served as Sexton; Red Wing Elks Lodge BPOE #845; Moose Lodge # 1088 Local South St. Paul and the Minnesota Chauffeured Transportation Association. He participated in the Mississippi Shuffle for the Kancer Kickers team and he enjoyed coaching softball, playing golf, and driving limousines. Survivors include wife, Sandra Richter of Red Wing; son, Jeffrey (Michaelyn) Richter of Red Wing; two daughters, Sarah Richter of Augusta, GA and Karen Richter of Red Wing; grandson, Benjamin Richter; mother, Vivian Richter of Red Wing; two brothers, Daniel (Cindy) Richter of Owatonna, and James (Beate) Richter of Inver Grove Heights; sister, Joanne (Travis) Krig of Red Wing; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Richter. Funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 26, 2006 at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Charles Uhlik officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of service Friday at Christ Episcopal Church. Pallbearers will be Scott and Wayne Bailey, Steve, Jeff and Mark Van Guilder and Alan Savage. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan, Nicholas and Marcus Richter.
