Robert "Bob" Reding

Robert "Bob" John Reding, 60, of Red Wing died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. He was born July 8, 1955 in Red Wing to Luverne "Skip" and Margery (Opem) Reding. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1973 and then attended Red Wing Technical College for Industrial Engineering. He married Cheri Matheson and they later divorced. He worked for many years at the family business, Wilson Hardware, and also at Durkee-Atwood. For more than 20 years he was a member of the Minnesota Labor Union where he worked at Prairie Island and Monticello power plants and Koch Refinery. He was a member of The Church of St. Joseph, the Knights of Columbus and the Island Chain of Lakes Association. He enjoyed fishing and going for walks.
Survivors include his son, Jake Reding of Hager City; his father, Skip Reding of Red Wing; one granddaughter, Addisyn Bordthauser Reding of Hager City; five siblings, Tom (Char) Reding of Florida, Jean (Jay) Jensen of Rochester, Pete (Peggy) Reding of Hutchinson and Paul (Lori) Reding of Red Wing and Father Michael Reding of Minneapolis; several nieces and nephews and his former wife, Cheri Reding of Hager City. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margery and one brother, Jim.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Michael Reding presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at church.
