Robert James Pritchard, 64 of Bay City, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born May 21, 1949 in Port Chicago, California, son of Robert and Lois (Petersen) Pritchard. Robert graduated from Ellsworth High School. After high school, he served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. On June 17, 1972, he married Marlys Nelson. The couple lived in Bay City, where Robert worked as a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Harding-Hall-Darrington American Legion Post #357 in Bay City and in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and attending flea markets. He had a deep love for his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marlys; two children, Yvette (Lance) Minder of Ellsworth, and R.J. (Ashley) Pritchard of Bay City; six grandchildren, Dawson, Paige, and Bella Minder, Robert James III, Lewis and Miles Pritchard; three sisters, Cathy (David) Zinn of Hager City, Sandy Pritchard of Bay City, and Linda (Mitch) Huppert of Hager City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in law, Lee Brzeczek.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with full military honors to follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
