Robert A. "Bob" McKee, Sr., 76, of Rochester, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Samaritan Bethany Heights following a lengthy illness. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Monday, November 12, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel with the Reverend Terje Hausken officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Robert Allen McKee, Sr. was born February 15, 1931 in Mason City, Iowa to Vernon and Mayme (Forschee) McKee. He grew up on a farm in Kerrick, Minnesota and left home at 16 to work. In June of 1956, Bob married MaryZella "Mary" Kinkead in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Bob was a cross-country truck driver for over 48 years, and he and his family relocated several times. The couple spent many years in Duluth. In 1983 Bob and Mary relocated to Rochester. Bob always had a kind word and a smile on his face. He loved his family and spending time with them, never missing a holiday. Bob also enjoyed fishing, visiting friends and puttering around the house.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, MaryZella "Mary"; three sons, Theodore (Asha) McKee, Sr. of Belton, Texas, Robert McKee, Jr. of Garland, Texas and Richard (Lisa) McKee of Rochester; a daughter, Kathleen "Kat" (Brian) Mittelstadt of Eyota; four grandsons, Theodore Jr., Robert and Daniel McKee and Levi Mittelstadt; four granddaughters, Tiffany and Michelle McKee, Brianna and Mia Mittelstadt; one great granddaughter, Allianna McKee; one sister, Marion (Robert) Sadler of Kerrick, MN; six brothers, Jack (Gert) McKee of Mount Vernon, WA, Dale (Nadine) McKee of Puyallup, WA, Bill (Louise) McKee and Wayne McKee of Kerrick, MN, Jerry (Lorrine) McKee and Danny (Cricket) McKee of Bennett, CO and two brothers-in-law, John (Teresa) Kinkead and Conroy (Rosie) Kinkead. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Doris; a grandson Christopher McKee; a brother, Richard; two sisters, Leona McDermott and Carol McKee; mother-in-law, Doris Arbuckle and two brothers-in-law, Charles Kinkead, Sr. and Kenneth (Carol) Kinkead.
