Robert R. Lichtblau age 80 of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at home. Born March 9, 1926 in Lake City to Adolph & Bertha (Laqua) Lichtblau. He attended Parochial and Rural School in the Lake City Area. He married Audrey Dammann on March 9, 1949. They made their home and farmed in Mount Pleasant Township, in Wabasha County. He enjoyed gardening, especially potatoes, cutting wood, and doing woodworking. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 during WW II. He was honorably discharged. He worked for Boss Oil Co. for 30 years and he also worked at Lake City Redi-Mix, and sold Mormon?s Feed. He retired in 1988. He was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church in Lake City.Robert is survived by his wife, three daughters, Linda Vagt of Lake City, Pam (Greg) Anderson of Lake City, Robin Lichtblau of Burnsville, MN; close family friend, Marlene Reineke of Burnsville; three grandchildren, Heidi Vagt and fianc‚e Dustin Boettcher of Plainview, Cory (Janelle) Vagt of Dodge Center, Dusty Vagt of Stewartville; two great grandchildren, Brendan & Kaylee; two brothers Adolph (Harriet) Lichtblau & Herman (Mildred) Lichtblau of Lake City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Roland; two sisters Frances Burfeind & Clara Lichtblau; three brothers, William, Fritz, and Julius. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St John?s Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice of Wabasha, and Lutheran Chapel of The Air. Military Rites will be Lake City VFW Post # 8729, and American Legion Post #110.
